Bob Kane, creator of Batman, was a big Houdini fan. Harry's handprints can be found throughout the Batman saga. Harry was a real-life model for the mythic quality of Batman: both made the touchstone of their lives the conquering of fear.
We've explored the remarkable symmetry between the lives of these "supermen" in earlier posts. Now, in the tradition of the movie serials both starred in (the latest one comes out shortly), we present episode one of "The Adventure of the Houdini Whodunit!"
