Kevin Connolly has broken a spectacular Houdini science story on his excellent blog Houdini Himself. The gist is that Harry appears to have seriously considered undergoing - and may have even undergone! - a monkey gland transplant for himself at age 52. His death-defying life was wearing him down, it seems, and he was thus making himself an expert in the exploits of Dr. Serge Voronoff, inventor of the monkey gland transplant and personal physician to the Khedive of Egypt.
Ever the daredevil, Harry appears to have been sanguine about having monkey testicle grafted to his own. As we wrote in a previous post, Harry had a good grasp of science and kept up with the research in many fields. More on this next time.
