Dr. Lynn's Palingenesia, depicted here, is the trick that first got Houdini interested in magic. Dr. Lynn's version involved black art. The one in this video -- well, congratulations to Criss Angel for making Ricky Jay’s dream come true. As far as we know, this is the first time it's ever been done in the open air.

And yes, we do reveal the secret of this great trick in HOUDINI UNBOUND: Espionage in Russia (Hudson River Books, New York, 2017). As Harry notes in the book, and Angel proves in this video -- it makes the audience run for the hills, which is the only reason it's not performed more frequently.
