BLACK MAGIC WOMAN v. HOUDINI & DOYLE

Tina Lenert is a great magical artist, combining all the best of ancient and modern theatrical illusion. Here she shows us her unique version of the Linking Rings, the Dancing Handkerchief and Mummenschanz all wrapped into a beautiful black art box.

She definitely outscores episode three of Houdini & Doyle, which aired on Fox Monday night. The series is still limping, with Doyle, played by an able actor, Stephen Mangan, trying to find himself as Doyle and trying to lose himself as Mangan. That's because his on-screen wife is played by his real off-screen wife, Louise Delamere, and her character is dying of TB. To distract us from the cacaroni-and-cheese, the other characters did plenty of on-camera retching and barfing in episode three. Houdini, played by Arthur Rubinstein's grandson Michael Weston, is still stuck on one note - smart-ass rude. The girl in the show, what's her name, Adelaide, is, well, the girl. Tina Lenert she ain't.
