There are so many things to love about Ricky Jay and his 52 Assistants. One is that every time you see it there is something new in the show. What we newly noticed today was in the opening credits - the fact that the executive producer was none other than Joel Silver, master and creator of the action movie.
We've filmed Ricky several times and we once had the pleasure of making a film about Joel Silver, in which he revealed his secret formula for an action flick: "You gotta have a whammo every reel!" Precisely the formula for Ricky's beautiful, action-packed thriller, seen here in its entirety.
