HOUDINI'S MISSING SIBLINGS

According to family lore, Harry Houdini had a sibling who died at birth. And now we learn from Houdini's descendants that there appear to be two siblings who died young - a boy, Solomon, and a girl, Meitl Julia.

The family saga speaks of Samuel and Cecilia Weiss having eight children, six of whom survived, according to our friend Sharon Kurlansky, a direct descendant of Houdini's and a great collector of family lore. She says she's run across three family trees naming the missing siblings as Solomon and Meitl. She provided the Geni listings above.

Our friends at the new House of Houdini in Budapest confirm these names and tell us they've even photographed the gravestones, also in Budapest. We hope to see those pictures soon.
