Merwin's Garden in Haiku




"Now, all my teachers are dead, except silence."

W. S. Merwin wrote that in Haiku, the name of his chosen village on the island of Maui. The former Poet Laureate, twice winner of the Pulitzer Prize for poetry, died there on the Ides of March. His poetry speaks for itself, and will continue speaking to those with ears for a thousand years.  

Especially for us, his fellow magicians, he has also left his secret training exercise. It must be practiced diligently:
